This was our final week. We didn't go out to fish except one day this week. Cameron and Landon both caught a bass but that was it. It was hard for us to find time this week because of sports starting up so availability was difficult. I can proudly say that we have definitely got the whole fishing thing down and will continue to fish for fun when we get the chance. This was a very fun project and now we all take fishing serious and love to do it as a hobby. Id say we are master fisherman and all our goals are met.

This week was definitely not the best for us. The weather was great but the slabs were not biting. On Tuesday, the weather was about 77 degrees; It was super hot. We lost a few luers from the previous week so we only had 2 luers and a few worms. We started out fishing at a new pond in Bermuda Run and caught nothing. After catching nothing at that pond we moved to "the bridge pond." We only got a few bites. We ended up only getting a couple bites at that pound and packed it up for the day. We went back out on Thursday and right when we got there connor caught a small crappie. he was using a Senko worm with a Texas Rig. We stayed out there for about an hour and that was the only fish we caught. And that was it for the week. a very slow week but well be back for the finale next week.
Let me tell you something right now. This may be the most amazing fish you have ever seen. Go ahead and click that button at the bottom. Now, allow me to give you the rundown. It's a Friday evening, roughly 5:00 and we decide to go fishing. We go out to Connors house because he has a pond down about a quarter a mile away from his house. We get down to the pond and start to lock in on trying to catch some absolute slabs. We decided before we went out that we were going to try to use the new lures that we bought earlier this week. Therefore, we did not know how the outcome of this would be, lets just say GREAT. As we got down there Landon had already had his rod set up but Cameron and Connor had to fix theirs up so, that's what they were doing until they heard a loud scream... SECOND CAST... A MONSTER, Landon had a huge bass on the line and looked and felt as if he were reeling in a sailfish in the deep sea. This was the absolute definition of a SLAB. And the best part is He reeled it in all the way. Everything about this was perfect, the weather was good, I got a quick and easy catch and definitely a new record. We are hoping to have another good week next week.
This week was a very slow week. We were only able to go out and fish twice and caught nothing. We fished in Bermuda Run neighborhood. There are multiple ponds in this neighborhood and we are still trying to figure out where the best ponds are. This week we had to go out in the evening towards night time and the temperatures got COLD. We all went out fishing after we played some basketball so we all had on short sleeve shirts and shorts. Connor got a few bites after about 30 minutes and had one on the hook but never got the chance to reel it in. Landon got his line stuck on a log so he had to cut his line and rig up another line. On the good side, we were able to go out and get some new hooks and lures. We have been using fake "Bait" worms and they have not been working too well. Hopefully the plastic lures can catch more fish next week. The weather killed us this week but it is supposed to warm up next week, which is OUR WEEK.
And just like that, we have our first catch. Yesterday we went out and fished for about an hour and managed to catch 2 fish. I, Landon caught one and Cameron caught one too. It was a great experience and felt like an accomplishment. We fished at Connors house twice this week and only one day we actually caught something. The weather was pretty good, temperatures during the evening were warm with a slight breeze but as the day went on it got colder.
We tried getting videos of ourselves but it was difficult and we kind of forgot. We did manage to get some clips and photos, we will upload them to the Pics/Vids page. |
